The 2021 Luncheon of Hope will be held virtually due to the ongoing risks regarding the exposure and transmission of COVID-19. We will be using the same platform as the 2020 Luncheon of Hope. This year’s Luncheon of Hope includes an online auction  and a brief update on cancer care in Sudbury in a streamlined and easy-to-use online program accessible from your smartphone, tablet, or home computer.

While this decision was not easy to make, we believe it to be in the best way to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved with the event.

Cancer doesn’t stop for COVID and more than ever, the Northeast Cancer Centre needs your support.

Breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer among Canadian women. 1 in 9 are expected to develop the disease during her lifetime.

Breast cancer research has been conducted at the Northeast Cancer Center (NECC) in Sudbury since 1990, directly benefiting patients in Northeastern Ontario. Fundraising events like the “Luncheon of Hope” support this world class research.

Our Luncheon provides a venue by which to educate and enlighten women about the effects of breast cancer. It also offers an opportunity for survivors, their families and their friends to gather together in reflection and celebrate life.  Since inception 20 years ago, the event has raised over $1,000,000 – all of which has remained in the community to support the work of the NECC.

Proceeds from the annual “Luncheon of Hope” support the Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) to help fund local breast cancer research, equipment and patient care conducted at the Northeast Cancer Center in Sudbury.
