Dr. Rebeccca McClure, a molecular pathologist specializing in DNA testing for diseases, joined the staff of Health Sciences North in Sudbury in the summer of 2013.

Originally from southwestern Ontario, Dr. McClure earned her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Toronto. She planned to spend a few years doing a residency and fellowship in pathology at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, but remained there for 19 years specializing in hematopathology, leukemias and lymphomas and the abnormalities of the immune system.

Dr. McClure is one of the first pathologists in North America to use next generation DNA sequencing in a clinical setting for the evaluation of cancer, and will be expanding the use of the technology at HSN to include hereditary and infectious diseases.
