Today, at a press conference at Kivi Park, the Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) put their first snowshoe forwad to announce the launch of the 2nd annual Trek for Cancer snowshoe fun run, which will be taking place on Sunday, March 5, 2017.
This year’s ‘Trek for Cancer” snowshoe fun run will be a great day of snowshoeing in the trails, while enjoying the beautiful scenery, a suguarbush, skating, sliding, face painting, lunch, hot chocolate and bonfire at the finish line/
“We’re thrilled to host the 2nd annual Trek for Cancer snowshoe fun run, this year’s focus is on the local community and getting them excited to participate,” says Tannys Laughren, Executive Director of the Northern Cancer Foundation.

We are especially pleased to know that the park is being used as the venue to help raise funds for the Northern Cancer Foundation through the Trek for Cancer,” says Martin Gran, Chief Financial Officer of Pioneer Construction Inc. and Fisher Wavy Inc.
The event will offer four different distances -1km, 3km, 5.5km and 7km – with all routes trekking through scenic Kivi Park. Registration fee is $35. Participants are encouraged to raise funds by collecting pledges. Children ages 12 and under can take part for free! There will be a great kids area for all children.
100% of the monies raised will support the Northeast Cancer Centre for patient care, equipment and research.
